In January 2020 we started a collective and circular orchard, called Bûûmkwekerij 1030. Collective because everyone can join in and circular because we use recycled equipment and planting materials. Like to join us? Let us know: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We took a good start on January 11th with a spontaneous collection of ‘surviving’ Christmas trees. We wanted to save spruces with a root from the incinerator or the wood chipper. We will now try to keep them alive (capture CO2 and clean the air) to give them back to the people who brought hem so they can redecorate them in their living rooms next Christmas. In doing so less trees will have to be cut.
Our action has been covered by Flemish and Ukranian television.
